MOU with DBL group

A memorandum of understanding is signed between the GCE department and the DBL group regarding the synthesis of metallurgical grade silicon from locally found quartz crystal. The DBL group will provide BDT 50 lac to support the necessary infrastructure at GCE, BUET for the synthesis using electric arc furnace. If successful, it will lay the pathway to synthesize solar grade silicon and open the possibility of fabrication of silicon wafer for renewable energy application.
