Md Saiful Islam is an assistant professor of glass and ceramic engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He obtained a first-class honors degree in materials and metallurgical engineering, BUET, Bangladesh. He earned his PhD in mechanical engineering from the Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. Mr. Islam is conducting research in nanomaterials for energy and water; high temperature physical chemistry; ferroelectric materials; energy materials/devices and waste management.
